Born outside of Nashville and raised in the Florida panhandle, 18-year-old Land Of Valen grew up immersed in the DIY scene, performing at her father’s coffee shop that functioned as the only music venue in town. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Valen turned to the internet to grow her following, playing new music and lending her voice to reimagined guitar covers of everything from Aerosmith to Chappell Roan.
Her second single, “I’ll Die Too”, exposes the rawness of unhealthy obsession and the daunting feeling that it may not be reciprocal after all. She reflects on the liminal and messy state of being 18 – fearing your mid-twenties, worrying for your peers who don’t know any better, and writing songs to cope with the anxiety of it all.

Valen’s sound is an amalgamation of cultures, scenes and decades. Her writing process often begins with poetry written late into the night – spontaneous ideas that later become shaped into songs. Valen’s youthful voice is front and center in her music, viscerally narrating moments of misunderstandings and heartbreak over jangly acoustic guitar and biting indie rock instrumentals.
